On January 10, 2020, singer Selena Gomez released her new album Rare. Back in 2015, with her album Revival she expressed that she would take better care of herself and she has come back stronger and putting her words into action with her new album.

Gomez took some years on silent as she was going through a rough time, but has found a new version of herself in which she has more self love and expresses this energy in her new songs. Gomez released her saddest energy before dropping the full album.

On October 23, 2019, Gomez released her lead single, “Lose You to Love Me”, that expresses her emotions with heartbreak and pain and getting through hard times as a way of cleansing herself from a relationship that didn’t work out. It deals with the singer’s journey to wellness and about learning to stand up for yourself to reach happiness. The song references , Sorry, by Justin Bieber and ended up becoming Gomez’s first number-one single in the United States. She earned her first Billboard Hot 100 chart topper and a spot on Vulture’s list of best songs of the year.

The last few years have not been eay for Gomez. The singer fought a battle with lupus which led to intensive therapy, kidney transplant surgery, and cruel internet speculations regarding her weight. Not to mention her high-profile breakups. She spent some time in rehab to work through her depression and anxiety.

In the album she wants to “Dance Again”, throwing a party for her new and happier self and being ready to let love back into her life. In some of her songs “Kinda Crazy” and “Fun” the artist is allowing herself to a little bit of danger and trouble into her life because she wants to feel strong enough to handle it and see everything with a positive mind. Her voice is assertive and soft and she delivers her lyrics with strong messages she trys to covey to her audience.

Rare celebrates Gomez peace and independence that she found in herself. “You don’t do the same for me, that’s not fair”. She talks about how she knows that she is special and doesn’t need anyone to treat her as if she is not rare. Although her songs celebrate the new version of herself, they don’t really go into depth about the war she went through to get to where she is now.

In an interview with Zane Lowe and Apple music Gomez talks about her struggles to speak up for herself and some of the setbacks she went through that prevented her to keep working. She explains that she was hurting and trying to take out the toxic in her life.

She says that when she released her single, Lose You to Love me, she felt like that was a special moment for her emotionally. Gomez says how the people she surrounded herself with challenged her and motivated her to speak up.

“I just needed to let my old self go. I was purging multiple different things but it was specifically who I was then I would like to say that this is a fresh start and I started with this album but I’m going to continue to just do better.”

The artist is continuing to heal and embracing the progress she is making.

In an era of convenience, it’s not shocking that people prefer sitting on the couch eating lunch while they order their loved ones’ Christmas gifts. This is especially ture after a long Thanksgiving Day, for many it is easier to take advantage of Black Friday deals without waiting in lines, getting ran over by rabid shoppers, or even camping out fir the hottest items of the season. Simply click a button and your gifts are on their way to your house.

So when the news broke that online shopping overtook a major part of retail for the first time ever, unless people were living under a rock, no one was surprised. The main disadvantage of online shopping is waiting for items to be shipped. Amazon eliminated this issue when they introduced Amazon Prime, a service provided where if you pay a small yearly fee you get  quick shipping.

Malls have too many obstacles to climb for the short attention span of this new generation. There’s the ridiculous traffic to fight through, the insane walking patterns, the people and of course the infamously rude shop clerks, one of the few stereotypes in this world that holds up. Why deal with that when you can just click a button in between games of Call of Duty? There’s a reason Amazon has been so profitable, it really doesn’t give the malls a chance.

It’s the same reason why platforms like Netflix and Hulu profit so much and take customers away from cable and the movie theaters. It’s just, you guessed it, convenience. Why deal with the ridiculously priced popcorn or cable bills when you can pay a monthly fee and watch all the movies and shows you want. You can watch as much as your heart desires, making it easier to enjoy your favorite TV shows.

Even Black Friday, which ropes in shoppers from all around to get those ridiculous deals, online is beating out retail stores. What used to be a crazy day for stores like Walmart and Target have turned into massive amounts of clicks for websites like Amazon. Do not not be concerned, as retail stores like Walmart aren’t going out of business anytime soon. However, to say that online shopping can’t compete with those same stores would be a blatant lie.

Simply put, online shopping is the future for shoppers looking for the maximum amount of convenience. No lines, no people, no hassle. Just a click and your holiday shopping is done. This is just the beginning, sites like Amazon will only grow bigger and slowly but surely beat out stores such as Target. It’s all about convenience and Amazon has it.

In the rap industry, it is difficult for upcoming rappers to gain fame. Nowadays, rappers are coming from small apps like SoundCloud or Spotify, expecting to become legends, although reaching legend status takes time, dedication, and effort. Many rappers now are writing more emotional lyrics to prove a point or be inspirational.

For example, XXXtencion is known by young adults and teens for being more relatable and emotional. Sadly, there is a more twisted side in being a rapper. Many rappers involve themselves in salacious activities, ranging from drugs to gang affiliation. Even though XXXtencion was young, fresh, and on the verge of becoming one of the best rappers of the time, he was shot because of being involved in salacious activities.

But more recently, Juice Wrld, a young rapper as well, who had just recently signed with the major record label Interscope Records, died on Dec. 8 after suffering cardiac arrest at a private hangar at Midway Airport.

Around 2 a.m., according to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said, “Paramedics were called to hanger operated by Atlantic Aviation.”

Juice Wrld‘s real name is Jarad Higgins, passing away just six days after turning 21. Higgins died just after he arrived at Midway on a private jet. Higgins was immediately taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where they announced his death at 3:14 a.m.

It was determined that Higgins died after having a seizure. Many of his fans believed that he was faking his death. Not to long before his unexpected death, he posted on Instagram that his lifetime goal was to successfully fake his death. Juice Wrld’s younger audience believes that this was his doing to shine brighter and become famous, but he suffered a seizure and began bleeding from his mouth. The cause of his seizure is not yet known. The medical experts who examined the body, did find traces of drugs but more tests are required to confirm.

When Higgins was still in school, he left a huge mark in the schools he attended. The teachers and staffs always knew him to be highly creative and talented in what he does best, make music. Higgins was a very caring person even before he was famous, he would make sure someone was okay if he noticed something was wrong with them. His former teachers, staff, and classmates always thought he was a generous and hardworking; they are very devasted that Higgins is gone now, and he will be remembered by many people who looked up to him.

At Universal Studios Hollywood a new, fun, interactive ride was built for the enjoyment of welcoming visitors, Jurassic World the Ride. This ride includes many aspects that make it unique, such as a Raptor encounter where visitors can meet Blue the Raptor and other friendly new dinosaurs.

Another new feature to Universal Studios Hollywood is a display, which is an interactive play area for younger guests. If parents need a break from their kids, this would be the spot to send them. Another new addition is the new shop Isla Nu-Bar. If guests are thirsty from a long walk to the ride, they can stop by Isla Nu-Bar and get a refreshing tropical drink, they offer a large selection to please picky customers. To add, if guests’ appetites grow and want something to eat, well they can stop by the Jurassic Café and get a delicious meal for lunch and feast like a T-rex.

According to the official Universal Studios Hollywood website, the minimum height is 42 inches or 107cm, passengers 42 inches to 48 inches are required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more information, the Universal website can provide more details.

To start off, the boat consists of four rows, each seating five people. The ride is like a flume ride therefore it floats on water with safety pads to prevent damages to passengers. The ride starts by going over a bump that may shake passengers up. Afterwards, the boat heads into a viewing of the mosasaurs tank with a speaker that will explain the mosasaurs background and their appetite, it is likely that guests will get wet on the ride.

Next guests head through a tunnel to herbivores section and get to see them in action feeding. Then the boat will enter the predator code section, and lucky enough, guests will get to enter the T-rex kingdom and guests get to see the king. After that, guests will travel through a tunnel seeing their favorite Raptors and the T-rex and the new Indominus Rex all in full conflict with each other fighting. Then guests head down a drop having water splashed all over guests, ending the ride. If guests enjoyed the ride, afterwards they can stop by the little store to grab a collectable or shirt or even jewelry

In this day and age, the public can watch whatever they want, whenever they want.  With media service providers such as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video almost any movie or television show is available to people with just the press of a button. Now there is new competition for these companies arising within the industry, it’s called Disney+. Disney has created its own media streaming service that will be released on November 12, 2019, and it will include movies and television shows from Disney, Pixar, National Geographic, Star Wars, and Marvel Studios.

With all of these shows and movies being on Disney+, companies like Hulu and Netflix are going to have to compete with even more competition. Disney is also taking some programs from different film industries, more specifically 21st Century Fox’s programs, such as The Simpsons and The Sound of Music. So it is not just Disney projects, but Disney is also taking from other companies as well.

In addition to posting old shows and movies, Disney+ will also make brand new television shows and films that are coming out with Disney+. Like Netflix and their own original shows and movies like Stranger Things, Disney has made a whole line up of brand new original shows and movies that can only be seen through Disney+. There will be new live-action movies, spin-offs, original films, and so much more. With all of these new projects going onto Disney+, there will also be many old shows and movies going on as well. These old films will be anything from The Parent Trap, to Hannah Montana. Disney+ will have all old, current, and new programs available to their customers.

Disney+ is going to make it harder for the other straming services to match the content available on their website. Many viewers are being drawn from the old services to Disney+.  With this new competition, a lot of things are about to change.

Melanie Martinez is an American singer and songwriter. She is known to be an adult baby because of her two front baby teeth that never fell out, her aesthetic style, and her two-toned hair inspired by the Disney character Cruella De Vil.

She rose into popularity as a contestant for the American reality show, The Voice. In her audition to the show she did a cover on the song ‘Toxic’ by Britney Spears. With her guitar and gifted voice, Melanie was known to become one of the most successful contestants on the show. She later produced her debut single ‘Dollhouse’ and then her album “Crybaby” which was a major success for her singing career.

Most of her songs revolve around her personal experiences expressed throughout her songs in different themes such as romance and family issues. Her classmates use to call her a crybaby for being very sensitive and emotional and she used it as an inspiration for the title of the album “Crybaby.”

Melanie released a new album and film on September 6th, 2019 known as K-12. She began working on the album in 2015 and finished it in early 2017. The album consists of 13 tracks. Some include “Wheels On The Bus”, “Strawberry Shortcake”, and “High School Sweethearts”.

She also created a musical film using the songs from the album to tell a story. Melanie plays the role of Crybaby, a strong and sensitive girl, who is sent away to a disturbing sleepaway school.

In the film, Crybaby acts as a narrator as the story is being told by her perspective of the place and its surroundings. Melanie sends a lot of hidden messages within her film and songs revolving around anti-bullying and other problems related to the real world.

Her album and film reached number two trending on YouTube. The K-12 CD and DVD is available on the Melanie Martinez merch site and in stores including Hot Topic, Barnes and Noble, and Target.

The K-12 tour will begin in October of 2019 and tickets can be found on the Ticketmaster website. Some of the cities she will be going to include Atlanta, GA, Houston, Texas, and many more. Big Hit’s new entertainment group is “TXT”

Hang on for a minute...we're trying to find some more stories you might like.

Big Hit Entertainment is a company that created the most successful, worldwide music group BTS. Big Hit announced a new boy band on January 10, called “TXT.” Big Hit shared an introductory film to the act.

TXT stands for “Tomorrow X Together”, but Big Hit tells Billboard to read it as “Tomorrow by Together,” as it is written in Korean. The first introduction film, titled “What do you do?”, introduces the first member, Yeonjun, in TXT. At the end of the video, it goes blank and shows a Morse code that fans quickly decoded to translate into “Dreaming.”

Shortly after the introductory film, terms like “Yeonjun,” “BigHit” and the hashtag #TOMORROW_X_TOGETHER began trending, worldwide on Twitter. TXT is Big Hit’s second group after six years since Billboard 200 chart-toppers BTS got their start in 2013. Big Hit has yet to announce TXT’s debut date or the amount of members in its lineup but that doesn’t stop billboard to reach out for further details.

Big Hit Entertainment states: “Tomorrow X Together is a bright and youthful boyband where each member is different from one another, shinning in their own way to create a synergy. Just as how their name suggests, the different members have all come together under one dream in hopes of building a new tomorrow.”

The company also described Yeonjun as a “19-year-old member with outstanding dancing skills.” Big Hit tells billboard that he is the eldest in the group. The company also tells billboard that the name signifies how the act has “all come together under one dream in hopes of building a new tomorrow.”

Since Yeonjun was revealed as the first member of TXT, Big Hit shared teaser videos and imagery for Soobin and Hueningkai over the past few weeks. Each member has been introduced with his own distinct setting and sonic backdrop with their short intro videos all titled “What do you do?” featuring bright rock and roll, EDM and pop. All members are teens.

According to Big Hit Entertainment, Soobin is 18 and the leader of the group, while Hueningkai is 16 years old. Big Hit has gained a lot of attention for weaving a creative storyline throughout BTS career, and already TXT is promising to feature a similarly intriguing narrative, one who dreams are likely to play a key factor.

Already there have been multiple references to dreams in the lead-up to the group’s launch, including Morse code at the end of each intro video spelling out “Dreaming.” It’s unknown whether the idea of dreams has to do with the group’s first single or album title, but it is a bit of a throwback; BTS debuted with the song “No More Dream” in June 2013.

It’s unknown when TXT’s first song will be released because Big Hit has only revealed some of the members and other tidbits, so it is unknown when they’ll put out their first release, but anticipation is high.

As the time passes, BTS’ impact on the world is steadily expanding. Their fanbase is unmatched, their loyal supporters residing all over the planet.

BTS’ songs hold powerful messages and the group addresses important topics such as mental health, societal pressures, self-expression, and loneliness in their lyrics. Their socially conscious lyrics and authentic and humble personalities are what draws most of their fans to them.

The group is very passionate about self-love, their recent album series, Love Yourself projecting a message of self-advocacy. The series ends on a hopeful note, highlighting the importance of loving yourself.

In September, BTS spoke at the United Nations for UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited launch, with RM giving a powerful speech on the significance of having your own voice and speaking for yourself instead of letting others speak for you.

“No matter who you are, where you’re from, your skin color, gender identity: speak yourself,” said RM. “Find your name, find your voice by speaking yourself.”

In November of 2017, BTS entered into a partnership with UNICEF Korea and began the Love Myself campaign. The campaign is focused toward ending violence and spreading love in the world. All funds raised during the two-year collaboration will go toward protecting adolescent victims of domestic and sexual assault and providing educational opportunities in local communities.

It has been brought up multiple times that BTS is playing a role in redefining masculinity and erasing barriers that limit what an individual can and cannot do or be based on their gender. During a Billboard interview, the interviewer brought up the fact that the songs on the Love Yourself: Her album seemed to be gender neutral.

“I was reading the lyrics are gender neutral, which I think is really powerful,” said the interviewer. “Was that a conscious decision?”

RM replied, “The lyrics were based on rare and special things in life. So, I thought, those feelings transcend genders, cultures and barriers between people.”

Western audiences have a preconceived notion of what men should look and act like. Self-care and precise attention to appearance are considered feminine by Western standards, but BTS defies all of these ideas, sporting full-face makeup and impeccable fashions.

In 2016, BTS did a photo shoot for Singles Magazine in which they dressed in skirts and fishnets in open protest of gender norms.

There is a long-standing toxic belief that men should not cry or show emotion. BTS’ emotional vulnerability and authenticity in their lyrics goes against this belief and encourages others to disregard predetermined gender roles and live their lives the way that they desire.

In Suga’s song, ‘The Last’, recorded under his solo stage name, Agust D, he opens up about his struggles with depression, OCD, and social anxiety, including lyrics such as, “On the other side of the famous idol rapper stands my weak self, it’s a bit dangerous. Depression, OCD, they keep coming back from time to time.”

This degree of honesty and openness is uncommon for Korean hip-hop artists, who typically practice censorship when it comes to personal feelings such as these.

Even out of the studio, BTS is very vocal about their views on the importance of mental health. There is a long-standing stigma in Korea around mental health that prevents many people from seeking help and BTS’ outspokenness about sensitive subjects such as this defies all notions that individuals should keep their feelings hidden.

In a Billboard interview, BTS spoke up about mental health after the suicide of Jonghyun, a member of the K-Pop group, SHINee.

“I really want to say that everyone in the world is lonely and everyone is sad,” said Suga, “and if we know that everyone is suffering and lonely, I hope we can create an environment where we can ask for help, and say things are hard when they’re hard, and say that we miss someone when we miss them.”

The new wave of musicians and innovators like BTS bring new hope to the world and have the potential to change the music industry forever.

Everyone loves unique and new music. We all crave the feeling of hearing a sound of something that is completely unique and fresh. We all crave the overwhelming sensation of Dopamine. We all crave an artist like Garrett Borns.

Garret Borns (BORNS is his stage name) is a 26-year old indie-rock artist that has a very unique style to his music. In 2012, he released a debut album called “A Dream Between”. Since then, his career took off. Three years later in 2015, BORNS released another album, called “Dopamine”. The name was inspired by a chemical that is released when a person feels a strong sense of longing, “The old ‘you want most what you can’t have’ expression,” BORNS explains himself. Earlier this year, the artist released a new album, this one being called “Blue Madonna”, featuring other artists, such as Lana Del Ray. BORNS has been very successful in the past from his two albums, Dopamine, which was released in 2015, and Blue Madonna, which was released earlier this year.

But let’s start from the beginning. In 1992, BORNS was, well, born. All throughout his childhood he was drawn to music. As a teen, he began to write his own music and find his own sound. In 2011, BORNS spoke on TEDX TALKS about a trip he took to Paris to get inspiration, and inspiration is what he found. BORNS discusses how on his trip he made connections with people that didn’t even speak English, and how it was music that brought people together. “The ultimate language of love is music, it’s the ultimate connector,” BORNS explains.

Brandon, Fla.- Nativity Catholic Church holds Novemberfest every year, approximately a week before Thanksgiving. This year’s event lasted from November 14-18. Each year the event attracts lots of people of all ages but especially high schoolers. At Novemberfest there are always rides, food, live concerts, raffles and games.

The event had rides that everyone can enjoy. There are two funhouses for kids to enjoy, one the one every fair has and then a Mario themed one with obstacles. Also available for kids were the rides with cars going in circles, they had the toddler version and the one for elementary school children, there was also a merry go round and the spinning dragons.

For teens and adults most of the rides involve spinning. Rides like Zero Gravity and Alien Abduction are two of the rides that spin quickly, the only difference being that one rotates as it spins. These types of rides are not for the light of heart.

Sadly, however many fan favorites were missing from this year’s event. The event lacked a Tilt-A-Whirl, Bumper Cars, and a few others. These being gone caused longer lines at other favorites like Typhoon and Rock’N’Roll to be longer than usual.

There were lots of classic carnival games and prizes to be won. All around the event people could be seen with the various prizes from all the games. The most frequent prize was goldfish, coincidently they were prizes at the fishbowl game, where you throw a ping-pong ball into the tiny fishbowls.

There were less food options than usual, especially when it came to desserts. Several teens complained that the stand that usually sold all the deep-fried candies and treats was not present this year, leaving desserts to cotton candy, caramel apples and funnel cakes. Aside from this there were still plenty of options for food. There were classic fair foods like corndogs, hotdogs, pizza or fries, but there were exotic things, like Polish and Indian food options.

Raffles and the live band performances occurred under a big white tent. There were lots of different artists that performed over the five days of the event. Genres for the performers vastly varied from a children’s chorus to a local rock band.

Overall people seemed to enjoy the event as there were still about a thousand people at the event. All around the site friends and families could be seen enjoying their time together.

BTS fans from across the country flocked to the Citi Field in New York City this past weekend to watch the wildly famous K-pop group’s final performance in the North American leg of their ‘Love Yourself’ tour.

Tickets for the show went on sale on Aug. 17 and were sold out in under 15 minutes. A groundbreaking 55,000 of BTS’ ARMY filled the famous stadium on the night of Oct. 6, making BTS the first Korean group to perform and sell out a U.S. stadium show.

Fans of the group were at the field preparing for the show all throughout this past week. According to Billboard, around 1,500 fans camped out in the Citi Field parking lot beginning as early as this previous Monday.

After the concert kicked off with the band performing their song ‘Idol’, the group spoke to the fans, expressing their gratitude for ARMY’s support and their excitement for getting to perform at Citi Field. RM, the leader of BTS, ended the brief greeting by asking fans to be mindful of each other during the concert for safety.

The band gave a revolutionary show, performing their newer songs from their ‘Love Yourself: Answer’ album as well as some of their older hits.

The ARMY expressed their enthusiasm for the band by singing along and waving their ARMY bombs, which are the official light sticks used by BTS fans at any concert or performance that BTS does.

The group spoke to the fans in English for the majority of the show, but Jimin and Suga spoke briefly in Korean at the end, sincerely thanking their fans.

The band was set to perform in London on Oct. 9, commencing the European leg of their world tour.
