Miranda Bihler is valedictorian of this year’s 2020 graduating class from Durant High School.

Bihler is ending her high school career with a 7.56 GPA and a full ride scholarship to Stetson University as a J. Ollie Edmunds Scholar.

While at Durant, Bihler was a member of Senior council, Spanish National Honor Society (SNHS), and chorus. Bihler also served as Vice-President of the National Honor Society, and was a member of the varsity flag football and swim teams. While maintaining her attendance in these clubs, Bihler also worked as a lifeguard for the YMCA.

Bihler says valedictorian was not always in her sights. “I’d always dreamed of being in the top ten, but it wasn’t until my junior year that I realized valedictorian was within my reach.”

Since learning she had placed first in her class, Bihler says she is thankful for the support of her friends, family, and teachers in helping her achieve this honor.
